Friday 13th Feels!

By | Blog | No Comments

I’m not much of a cat person, but I couldn’t love this any more! Mars Petcare has come up with a solution to finding out what your pets do with themselves when you’re not at home- a Whiskas Catstacam! The device is designed to help cat owners see what their cats are up to by using motion-detector technology to take a photo every 20 seconds and upload it to a cat’s individual Instagram profile. Their behaviour is then analysed and decoded by a Whiskas Cat Behaviour Expert using the hashtag #AskWhiskas. This is a great campaign that has gained some serious attention, giving people exactly what they’ve always wanted, a sneak peek into the daily activities of their cats!   This is a little something to give you warm and fuzzy feelings on a Friday! Robert Downey Jr, Aka IRON MAN presented a 3D-printed, real-life bionic arm to a dapper little boy named Alex. Here, he partnered with One Note’s #Collective Project and Albert Manero, a Fullbright scholar and mechanical engineer whose organization Limbitness Solutions helps provide 3D-printed prosthetics to people around the world.   The ever-charming star shared the news on his Facebook page- a post that has received over 331,000 likes in 7 hours. Take a look at the heart warming video below; Continuing on with our Good Feeling Friday- we’ve found something that will give you that same feeling you get when you have bacon in the morning….KEVIN BACON that is. The actor has participated in an…

Such a playful way to give the consumer another way to choose from the millions of choices that Dominoe’s offers! Take a look below; This is such a simple and effective concept! Now, I don’t want to give too much away…so take a look for yourself. What did you think? I must admit I fell for it hook, line and sinker! As it turns out, a lot of other people have too, as the video has had over 1.2 Million views in the last few days!   This weekend is Mardi Gras! – as if you didn’t already know, it’s everywhere! Jumping on the bandwagon are major partner AirBnb, who have created a float that is custom-designed as a house- and you can live in it! The house, (complete with a lofty-style master bedroom, fully equipped kitchen and a garden surrounded by a white picked fence) has been in Sydney’s Royal Botanical Gardens offering one lucky couple a stay for a week, enjoying amazing harbour views and a one-of-a-kind experience. This weekend will see the float descend down Oxford street sparkling with neon-coloured lights and a glitter cannon chimney! “We’re extremely proud to be a major partner of this year’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras – an incredible festival that celebrates community, diversity and…

Bring meeeee the pizza! Dominoes have used pioneering science from the 60s to create the world’s first ‘Tummy Translator’ app, which aims to revolutionize the way people order pizza by translating tummy rumbles into corresponding ingredients. Such a playful way to give the consumer another way to choose from the millions of choices that Dominoe’s offers! Take a look below; Leading on from our post last week about Julie Bishop’s emoji interview with Buzzfeed (you can find it here) – she’s gone and done it again! Appearing on Channel 9’s Today Show she was asked about her thoughts on the request from Govenor-General Peter Cosgrove for a $2,000 Thermomix for his kitchen. Her response? nothing short of perfect! Find it around the 1 minute mark! The power of a hashtag!! This week was all about the Oscar buzz! However this year, instead of the sole focus being on the dresses being worn, famous women of Hollywood such as Reese Witherspoon and Lupita Nyong’o encouraged twitter users to communicate with them via the hashtag #AskHerMore. The campaign was started by The Representation project in an effort to encourage social users to value the accomplishments of women in Hollywood and ignite deeper conversations in front of the world audience. The hashtag saw Twitter explode with thousands of people asking celebrities great questions about their work!

I can’t begin to describe how happy this makes me!  Some unsuspecting shoppers in a Long Island Mall found themselves being shadowed by Disney’s finest to promote the new Disney Slides Campaign. The concept saw an array of Disney characters from Mickey and Minnie to Buzz Lightyear surprise and mirror shoppers- much to their delight! The video has received over 25 million views on the Mickey Mouse Facebook page alone- so simple, yet so effective!   Quite possibly the greatest day on earth! Wednesday was WORLD PANCAKE DAY and it saw a number of great brands jump on the back with pancake themed posts to celebrate. Samsung managed to outshine it’s competitors by making ‘Pancake Portraits’ of it’s twitter followers and celebrities! To enter, they encouraged their followers to submit a photo of themselves via twitter to see it be re-created….AS A PANCAKE! The lucky winners were re-created in pancake form and were tweeted out by Samsung for everyone to see, take a look as some of the best below;  Australia is in the midst of a major political struggle, with the Liberal Party experiencing anything but calm waters over the last few weeks. Perhaps in an effort to remove herself from the drama, Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop took part in the world’s first ‘political emoji interview’ via Buzzfeed. The minister, who has proven time and time again that she does not shy away from social engagement, took part in the interview conducted via iOS-based iMessage. Answering a broad range of questions,…

Is it un-Presidential to pose with a selfie-stick? To shoot hoops into an imaginable basket in the White House? President Obama posed these questions and more in this newly released video ‘Things that everybody does but doesn’t talk about’ via Buzzfeed. The video is produced to drive subscriptions in healthcare plans before the end of an open enrolment period in the United States. It’s a great tactic for engaging a younger audience- the key demographic!   The video had over 1.6 million views in the first hour alone! Great to see the President engaging with his audience! Great content idea from Ford capitalising on Valentine’s Day to help push their new Ford Mustang! Ford recruited a professional female driver to take several unsuspecting men on blind dates at a coffee shop in Dallas, Texas, before offering them a lift home in her 2015 Mustang GT. Mustang Speed Dating combines a beautiful blonde stunt driver,  an American muscle car and speeds of 195km an hour. Really talks to the target audience and showcases the capabilities of the new GT model. Who will inherit your Facebook account? It seems a little morbid to think about, but the world’s biggest online social network rolled out a new feature that allows people to allocate a contact as their ‘legacy contact’ to manage parts of their account after they pass on. Previous features saw accounts ‘memorialized’ after someone has passed, so that no one could login and make any changes. Now, the allocated ‘legacy contact’ can update the profile and header…

Take a look here: http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/feb/04/mcdonalds-big-mac-special-sauce-gross-or-great#img-1   Leading on from the campaign’s success in the US, Uber Australia teamed up with cat shelters in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Geelong and the Gold Coast to deliver kittens for 15 minutes of cuddle time to feline starved Australians. All the money ($40 per kitten visit!!) was donated to the shelter involved in each city. Something out of the box and very successful, the campaign received great pick up all around Australia + it’s so much fun!

Hats off to Air BNB for their latest campaign. We’re seeing more and more brands adding value to the greater community and this is a great example. A social experiment called One Less Stranger, AirBNB have engaged their online community…with a million dollar giveaway and a simple call to action –  use the money to perform a random act of hospitality. Some pretty incredible results and some great content too! Content is key! Victoria Beckham is definitely style crush , but even I must admit that I found this interview a little awkward. Luckily, she has a great sense of humour- as she Tweeted a hilarious spoof of her interview- that’s had over 53,000 hits!  Check out the before and after below; I think we should make these company policy. Even the most creative individuals are stumped for ideas every now and again, so Danish brewery, Rocket Brewing Co. teamed up with agency CP+B Copenhagen to create ‘The Problem Solver”. This amazing  7.1% bottle of ale uses science to measure the exact amount if liquid you’ll need to consume in order to come up with a killer idea. Scientific studies believe that your creative peak is reached at an alcohol level of exactly 0.075%. The back of the bottle will  match your weight with the amount of pale ale you’ll need. Bring on the creative ideas!

Some of these are eerily accurate, I can vouch for the McDonald’s one for sure! – Ness Danish writer Mikael Wulff and cartoon artist Anders Morgenthaler the creative duo known as Wumo has created a brilliant series of graphs that illusttrate some of the basic painful truths of everyday life in the Western world. Great unique in restaurant experience. A very loose tie in but who cares it’s fun and great vision. I’m wondering if any of the diners were on first dates. Nice one!- Ness Ok Go! A US Alt-rock band has created a brand of music video’s that transend their music. Their latest creation racked up more than 2.7 million youtube hits in 24 hours. Shot in one continuous shoot, this creation took 60-70 takes to get right. The band is an inspiration for creating out of the box content that engages the consumer and in this case, speaks for itself- Hannah      This is my sort of advent calendar (actually more of a Jack Daniels man myself), it’s a Ginvent calendar! 1) We’ve been loving the witty responses from various brands in the aftermath of the Mrs Kardashian-West photo shoot in Paper Magazine. Great to see the likes of Nissan, Nestle and Budweiser showing a cheeky side!  Here is some of my favourites – Stella   2) I love a campaign based on truths- however shocking. South Korea has the second highest rate of suicides in the developed world,  and the Mapo Bridge in Seoul is a particularly tragic spot. Every year, dozens of people tragically jump to their death. To do something about this, Samsung came up with the “Bridge of Life”: a light-and-message system that gets people out of themselves, and seeing the essential side of life again. The company claims the suicide rate has fallen 77% on the bridge as a result. Below is a clip talking about the making of the project:Samsung Life Insurance ‘The Bridge of Life’- James 3) CUTE DOG CONTENT ALERT. Goodbye to the red and white! Coca-Cola has broken down their brand guidelines and launched six limited edition coloured cans for summer!  Colour Your Summer is a great re-invention of an iconic brand, that adds fun and vibrancy to young adults over the warm months. Pink is my favourite! – Stella This is pretty pawe-some! Uber taxis celebrated National Cat Day by delivering kittens to customers in seven cities across America. Customers paid $30 to snuggle with the adoptable felines at their homes and offices for 15 minutes, with the profits going to charity. To order the kittens, Uber users loaded up their Uber app, and if kittens were available, they could select the “KITTENS” option and little cat faces replaced the taxis on the map. I’m a dog person, but even I would love this! – Hannah I love this sentiment, it’s something we should all take into our day to day operations and make us remember why we love what we do! – James

People love to upload their food onto instagram and Comodo restaurant has used that to their advantage, creating a hashtag for restaurant goers to search and help them decide on a meal – Jessie   This concept is fantastic. This week’s Three From Free includes a gruesome pop-up butchery, an elevator with a dizzying view, and a monster university. Enjoy!   Well this is unsettling, what gorey imagery! I wonder how many people actually tried out this stuff? Definitely on brand though so nice work Resident Evil – Kelly   If you have a fear of heights then this is one elevator you would want to avoid. Back in 2009 Swiss Skydive fitted high traffic elevators with birds eye views of the city to give people the feeling they were in free fall. Not sure whether this would make me want to try skydiving, but it’s a clever way to promote the company – Jessie   To promote the 2013 Monsters Inc. film, an academic website was created for Monsters University including information on admission, campus life and a merchandise store – Jessie
